From ‘Africa’ to Antwerp: TOTO celebrates 50 years with hits that continue to reach new generations. ‘Hold The Line’, you won’t want to miss this.

Following their sold-out show at Forest National in 2025, legendary American band TOTO returns to Belgium for a special anniversary concert. On Monday 5 July 2027, the band will take to the stage at AFAS Dome in Antwerp to celebrate 50 years of music with their biggest-ever headline show in Belgium!

With global hits such as “Africa”, “Rosanna” and “Hold The Line”, more than 50 million albums sold and over 9 billion streams worldwide, TOTO ranks among the most successful and influential bands of all time.

50 years of TOTO: half a century of musical history

On 7 January 1977, the original members of TOTO came together for the first time at Davlen Studios in North Hollywood, California, to record demos that would eventually evolve into the band's debut album. Founders David Paich and Jeff Porcaro, together with Steve Lukather, Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro and David Hungate, laid the foundations for an extraordinary musical career that remains very much alive nearly half a century later. The band continues to captivate new generations of music fans around the world, proving that their timeless repertoire has lost none of its power.

More than 9 billion streams and an ever-younger audience

TOTO's popularity remains phenomenal in the streaming era. The band has now amassed more than 9 billion cumulative streams across digital music platforms worldwide. In total, TOTO has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide. TOTO has become a band that effortlessly brings together three generations. Today, their concerts are not only a celebration of familiar favourites for longtime fans, but also a first introduction to the band for a new generation.

A world-class band led by Steve Lukather and Joseph Williams

TOTO's current lineup is led by guitarist and singer Steve Lukather and frontman Joseph Williams. They are joined on stage by an impressive group of top musicians: Warren Ham (horns, percussion and vocals), John Pierce (bass), Keith Carlock (drums), Dennis Atlas (keyboards and vocals) and Rai Thistlethwayte (keyboards and vocals).

Half a century of music bringing generations together

For the band members, this 50th anniversary is a particularly emotional moment. TOTO's special connection with Belgium is also reflected in the words of co-founder, guitarist and singer Steve Lukather, who shares his excitement ahead of the announcement of the anniversary tour:

“From the earliest stages of our career, Belgium has supported Toto. There is a mutual affection between us and the entire country. I can’t wait to bring them a great show featuring Joe, myself and a band comprised of world-class musicians. It’s going to be a great time for everyone at the AFAS Dome in Antwerp come July 5th.”

Singer Joseph Williams, who joined TOTO in 1986, looks back with pride on the band's remarkable history:

“I'm incredibly proud to have been part of TOTO's 50-year history. It has always been a labour of love. I've had the privilege of working with fantastic musicians, including Jeff, Mike and Steve Porcaro, David Paich and, of course, my lifelong friend and brother Steve Lukather. It is one of the greatest joys of my life to have kept TOTO's music alive alongside Steve all these years.”

Co-founder and keyboardist David Paich also reflects on the special significance of this milestone:

“When I look back over the past fifty years, I could never have imagined that the music we were writing and recording back then would still be discovered by new generations so many decades later. To know that our songs are still loved today, that people sing along to them and that they mean so much in people's lives is the fulfilment of a dream we shared as young musicians.”

In 2009, TOTO was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame in recognition of its outstanding contribution to music history.

On 5 July 2027, TOTO will write a new chapter in its Belgian story

With their 50th anniversary tour, 2027 promises to be a special year for TOTO. And Belgian fans can look forward to a truly historic night. An impressive celebration of five decades of music, featuring a repertoire packed with global hits that have shaped generations. One thing is certain: on 5 July 2027, AFAS Dome will provide the setting for an unforgettable night with one of the most iconic bands of all time.
